Red Lentil & Quinoa Burgers

These burgers are packed with protein, fiber, and antioxidants and are loaded with vitamins and minerals. Even better that they are super delicious and filling. I like to serve them over greens with salsa and chips. They would also be delicious in a whole grain bun with your favorite toppings.


3 cups cooked red lentils

2 cups cooked quinoa

3/4 cup onion finely chopped

4 cloves of garlic minced

1/3 cup red pepper finely chopped

1/3 cup celery finely chopped

1 cup or 1 small cooked sweet potato

2 tablespoons Braggs amino acid

1 tablespoon ground cumin

1 teaspoon ground ginger

2 teaspoons ground turmeric

1 teaspoon smoked paprika

1 teaspoon onion powder

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1/2 cup cornmeal (I use blue cornmeal)

2 tablespoons hot sauce

1/4 vegan mayonnaise or silken tofu

1/3 teaspoon sea salt

1 teaspoon freshly ground pepper

1/4 cup ground flax-seed mixed with1/4 cup water (Let sit for 15 minutes to thicken) this is your binder

Preparation:Mix all ingredients together ending with the mayonnaise and flax seed mixture. Adjust seasonings and coat in a little finely ground cornmeal or gluten free bread-crumbs. Using an ice cream scoop form patties, lightly coat with the cornmeal and pan fry with olive oil or coconut oil. Enjoy!! XO
