This is a simple 4-minute way to make delicious chicken flavored tofu. I like this in recipes like chicken-less piccata, vegan chicken parmigian or chicken-less marsala. If you want something a little more crunchy and fried try my buffalo chicken recip. Enjoy!

If you can’t find cryovac tofu use extra firm and press with paper towel to remove moisture and get as dry as possible.

Ingredients:

1 package cryo-vac extra firm tofu. I use Wild Oaks or Trader Joes organic tofu.

1/2 teaspoon poultry seasoning

1/2 teaspoon of sea salt

Black pepper

1 teaspoon onion powder

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1 tablespoon nutritional yeast

3-4 tablespoons olive oil, coconut oil or 2 tablespoons of olive oil and 1 tablespoon vegan butter for a richer flavor

Preparation:

Cut the tofu in slices about ½ inch thick. Cut in half again or in strips depending on what you’re doing with them. I love them in strips. Combine all ingredients in a shallow bowl. Coat the tofu with the mixture. Heat the oil in a cast iron skillet over medium heat. When the oil is hot add the tofu and cook for 3-4 minutes until nicely brown.
